Tansi (Hello), WWOOFers, We are a small family with a lakeside property in Moberly Lake BC. We have a cabin where we live recreationally and small home with an garden where a WWOOFer is welcome. We also are part of a small first nations community and help elders with yard upkeep. As First Nations we are active in our community harvesting edible plants, collecting wood, fishing and doing activities close to home. We live on a lake, so in the summer we love kayaking, hiking, boating and fishing! Picking berries, Atv-ing and going for trips camping is always fun too. We have a 8 year old and would encourage families to reach out as a preference. In a variety to yard work, My day time activities as a biologist include foraging wild foods for humans and also caribou! We are recovering a caribou herd and pick the lichens for winter food security in the boreal forest (taiga) which is a great field trip. Our tiny home has it own accommodation with its own kitchen. We could supply groceries and share meals. The guests would have access to our lakeside sauna, kayaks and dock. We also have a car that they could use if we arrange the right insurance. Our place is 25km to the nearest town of Chetwynd B.C. with local amenities. So it is considered remote with only 1 gas station that is open part time.

My stay with Carmen and her family was such a wonderful experience. They made me feel incredibly welcome and included me in a lot of fun activities like berry picking, foraging, hiking, kayaking, ATV-ing, boat rides, and attending an exciting cultural celebration. My WWOOFing tasks included helping with set up at the celebration and harvesting lichen for caribou recovery. Their property is beautiful and the accommodation was very comfortable with a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom to myself. I had my own car with me which was helpful and allowed me to fully participate in all the fun things happening in the community. I would highly recommend a stay with Carmen and her family.
