Hello We are Darren and Carmen. We live on a private 5-acre lake front property just outside of Flin Flon Manitoba Canada. We are new to farming and just started a small animal sanctuary. We have a dozen goats, 2 sheep, 10 kune kune pigs, bunnies, chickens, and ducks. We have 5 dogs and 7 cats! You must love animals here! We have a boarding kennel for dogs on our property as well as a beautiful 4 season eco dome we rent out. We have goat walks on the weekends, and they have become extremely popular! We also have a small eco boutique on our property. We have a beautiful barn to house our animals. We have a small personal garden on our property we use for ourselves and our animals. We are 10 minutes from town. Flin Flon is a small northern mining town with a cool culture and lots of interesting opportunities to join in on. An average day is barn chores, walking the boarding dogs, yard work, special projects that are usually for the animals, and caring for the animals and taking care of the ecodome. Our animals are our pets and we spend a lot of time with them. Going on goat walks with the public and educating them on the animals. House chores. Cooking meals. We are 420 friendly, we do not smoke cigarettes and only drink socially occasionally. We do our own thing for breakfast and lunch time. For dinners we eat together. We enjoy downtime and relaxing just before bed with movies and snacks. We have a nicely decorated and comfortable guest bedroom with a queen size bed for you. You also have a guest bathroom that is yours to use while here. I very much want you to have a special experience while visiting us, and I try my best to find activities you would be interested in while here. In the summer, spring, and fall, we have kayaks and canoes for you to enjoy as we live on a lake. In the winter we have snowshoes for you to enjoy as we have lots of wonderful trails in our area. My hobbies are my animals, and I am very busy with my work around the property. I love art and music and like to attend concerts and plays. I love the forest and being in nature. My husband, Darren, works full time, and he spends his time off working around the property and spending time with the animals. There are many trails all around us. The north is a beautiful area to explore. We live right near the drive-in movie theater! You can see the northern lights here all the time! You must remember we are very remote and are a small town! We are a pretty laid-back couple. We enjoy the peacefulness of our property and the animals we share our lives with! Carmen takes care of the animals, property, boarding kennel, and the eco dome rental. She would love a like-minded person to join her in her daily routine! Reminder...we are a remote community. You would need to catch the bus to The Pas, Manit, ba if you are coming from Winnipeg. If you are coming from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan you would be catching the bus to Creighton, Saskatchewan (we are a border town and Creighton is right here) OR we could arrange to pick you up from the Winnipeg Manitoba (8 hour drive) airport or the Saskatoon Saskatchewan airport (6 hour drive) if it works for us. WE ARE A REMOTE COMMUNITY. Flin Flon Manitoba has an airport but it is expensive to fly. ( Winnipeg Manitoba or Saskatoon Saskatchewan are the closest major airports. We would need to plan pick up. Bus service now available as well.

this is the best place on earth, I'm not kidding. I've felt so good here and that's thanks to everything: the people, the animals, the area and the work too. I fell in love with Raven's Hollow and I wanna come back ASAP. the work really isn't hard but still feels accomplishing, I really enjoyed helping Carmen out. if you love animals this is the place for you, you'll always have at least 2 animals around you, most of the time 3. the house is nice and cozy and I immediately felt welcomed. Also Carmen tries her best to make sure that you get to see something other than the farm, she and Darren took me to a hockey game and to the drive in theatre which is nearby. I can really just recommend coming here, you'll have an amazing time.

I had the best time at Ravens Hallow! It’s truly a magical place and I would come back anytime! I originally planned to stay for two weeks but I ended up extending my stay for a few more days. Carmen and Darren welcomed me with open arms and I felt at home right away. The tasks were fun and I got to spend lots of time with the animals. My favorite part was sitting in the garden and hanging out with the pigs. The Sunday goat walks were also such a unique and unforgettable experience. Carmen made sure that I was able to experience as much as possible during my stay. She even took me on a lovely tour through Flin Flon and together with Darren they brought me along to a fun 90s party and to the drive-in cinema. In the evenings you can enjoy delicious meals and movies together. The animals live a wonderful life here, and you can really see and feel how much love and care they receive.

What an honor to be Carmens and Darrens first Wwoofer! This Was honestly one of the best farms i have been to, and i would come back any time. Carmen and Darren made me feel increadibly welcome in their home i already felt like a part of their family After only a few days. Carmen looked for all possible things for me to do like a snow shoe walk, doing pottery at the local community Center and visiting a Hockey game. They have four lovely dogs and Lots of cuddely cats. All of the farm animals are basically pets too. The goats enjoy attention and the pigs love belly rubs. The work is very relaxed and enjoyable. In the morning we would walk that dogs from the dog kennel and then let the goats out, feed the pigs and the chickens, and in between we would cuddle Loui and Hazel, the barn cats. We would walk the dogs again at noon and in the afternoon, and around that time we would also get all the animals back in and get the barn ready for the night. After another dog walk in the evening we would relax on the Couch with a nice supper and a movie. The goat walks on sundays were also always fun. You can really tell that Carmen and Darren love their animals with all their heart. Most of the farm animals were saved from slaughter and will have and amazing Rest of their lives on the ravens hollow farm.
