We are a couple living on a small acreage farm in the nook of the beautiful Kluane Mountain Range. We have 7 horses, 3 mini ponies, 2 dairy cows, two dogs, chickens and cats. Possibly Alpacas coming in the fall. We run equine therapy programs out of the farm for the local Indigenous families and groups. We come from a heart centered approach and work with the horses from a relational based perspective. We are fortunate to have many ceremonies held with our programs that honor the land and the people. We have a huge garden and green house, hot tub, and wood fired sauna. We have two beautiful fire pits that are perfect for enjoying the evenings basking in the sun and mountains. There are skiing or walking trails right out the back yard. We are five minutes away from the main town of Haines Junction. Must be comfortable and have some experience with horses and be willing to milk with a milk machine We are looking for help with the horses, this includes picking up manure, feeding, grooming and if you have experience, ground work and riding. Construction, building experience, mechanical knowledge and comfort with fencing is most hoped for. Milking our dairy cow on a daily basis in the summer and fall. Feeding the chickens and collecting eggs is also helpful. We have a large garden that needs love in the spring, summer and fall. Canning in the fall and harvesting wild products in the summer and fall. Also help with cooking meals and general help around the house. We are a water delivery system so we would also want help with picking up the water. We will be gone for a few weeks at a time in the summer so there will be times when the farm is the sole responsibility of the helper. We do have a person that works on the farm that can help. We have a couple of options for accommodation. We have a small cabin that has electricity but is on blue jug water systems. We have a small camper and a guest room in our large log house. Food is of high quality. Fresh milk products and garden food in the summer and fall. Primarily local meat all year. Highly quality food. Note, I only cook once or twice a week so it will be the expectation of the Wwoofer to either cook some meals or at least cook their own meals. All food is provided. We have four deep freezers full of local food. We are in a hiking mecca with Kluane National Park as our back drop. We love to hike. Riding horses is a top activity. I am a musician with guitars, piano and ukulele. Although with all of the farm work, I don't get alot of time for this anymore. We have bikes available for use. There is a beautiful lake a five minutes bike ride away. Amazing skiing, snowshoeing and northern lights in the winter.

Wow, too many words to express how I feel about this magical place. I was heartbroken leaving Nataschaa’s haven farm. First I need to say that unfortunately I never met Nataschaa because she was in vacation during my stay. BUT I met Mio, Marjorie and Charlie, 3 wonderful human being with whom I took care of the animals while Nataschaa and dave were gone. The second I opened the door I felt at home. The land is breath taking, it is surrounded by montains. At night, northen lights appears above you head like in your dreams. We saw the unexpected. During winter you can go ice skating, do some Snowshoeing hikes and backcountry skiing. Haines junction is about 2hours north of whitehorse, so you need to take a shuttle with adventure time and Isabelle will be your super cool and friendly driver. The house is cozy and big. Plenty of space to relax after a good/big day of work on the farm. We were very lucky because Mio was always cooking us some delicious meals. I truly miss all the animals, espacially Oda the « bodyguard » of the farm, the most fierce female dog ive ever met, Nya, that big lovely goofy head that sits like a proper lady and puppy Sia who couldnt stop eating poop and learning out to: « Go to your place! ». My stay was just incredible. I will always remember ans be back during summer season to finally meet Nataschaa and see Mio, Marjorie and Charlie somewhere near by! a BIG thank you for this opportunity, and can wait to be back again! Dear Natascha and Dave, Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had with you! From the very first day it felt just like home. Your kindness, openness and hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable. The little projects like building the hay feeder and the sleeping area for the goats were great fun, and of course working with the horses was an absolute highlight! 🐴🐐 We really enjoyed getting a glimpse into your life and your beautiful farm. These memories and of course all the animals 🐕🐓 will definitely stay in our hearts. Thanks again for everything, we would have loved to stay longer! All the best to both of you and a big hug to all the animals. Volker & Sarah

During our month stay with Nataschaa on her farm, Matt and I had the most lovely time. The living arrangements and food provided were perfect (Mio is a great chef and they use as many local ingredients as possible-even making home made cheese!). Everyone on the farm is always smiling and creating a very positive work space! Nataschaa melded to our work style with ease, she provides time off around any plans you may make, and is very good at communicating anything she requires you to do. Now, the farm itself is spectacular, you will very easily feel like you are learning and caring for each animal at your own comfort level. It’s clean and full of happiness. We have never met anyone who is so in-tune and proactive on their own land. If it’s new skills you want to learn, or old ones you want to master Nataschaa puts you in the best place to achieve those in your stay. The town of Haines Junction is sweet and has all the essentials, and the odd trip down to Whitehorse is an easy (1hr30min) drive for days off or a vet run. We feel like we have made a friend for life!! Also, we believe that anyone with a strong sense of what they want and a good work ethic will fit right into this beautiful piece of land nestled on the edge of Kluane National Park! Thank you Nataschaa for everything. If you want to explore the Yukon and love animals this is the place for you!

My month at the Heart Haven Farm was wonderful, it was my first time being a Wwoofer and I have to say: Nataschaa set the bar high. She and her partner cared for us and made sure we had everything we needed. The farm is surrounded by the breathtaking Kluane mountain range and a lot of wildlife. Nataschaa and her partner let us borrow their car to experience the absolutely breathtaking landscapes of the Yukon. I even got to see a horse clinic workshop, which was super interesting. There was always some work to do on the farm, whether it was feeding, cleaning out the animal‘s sheds or just spending time with the animals and making sure they’ve got everything they need. We even got to ride Nataschaa’s lovely horses a couple of times, which I enjoyed a lot. I stayed in a cozy camper and whenever I woke up in the morning, I was greeted by one of the sweet dogs. Their two cats also made sure, that there was always someone to pet them or play the fish game with. You can tell: My stay at Heart Haven was magical and I‘m so happy I got to experience all of this. Nataschaa is such an inspiring person, her deep love and care for all of her animals is truly moving. I will cherish these moments forever and hope to be back someday! Thank you again for all of this.

My almost month at Heart Haven was amazing! Nataschaa and her partner were very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. I had a great time connecting with the animals (not only the horses, but also one of the cows and the goats loved cuddles!) and it was heartwarming to see how lovingly Nataschaa cares for all her animals. I also loved learning more about the relational horsemanship approach to training horses, as I didn't have much experience in this specific field. Chore times were pretty flexible, apart from feeding times, so we could plan our days pretty much how we liked:) I had a great time with the other wwoofers there aswell:) And the views on the mountains.... breathtaking. Thank you again for everything!
