If you are interested in learning all about both indoor and outdoor growing in a cold mountainous climate year-round please reach out and tell us about yourself! Please note we do have a requirement of one month and often give priority to those that wish to stay longer. Our farm is located in an awe inspiringly beautiful area of the coastal mountain range and as the stewards of this land, we take responsible steps towards protecting its biodiversity and accentuating its natural beauty. It is essential to our operation that our services and products are aligned with these goals, from the day-to-day small tasks, to how we operate as a whole. The property is situated on 20 acres of land in a secluded forest sanctuary, but only 15 minutes from Whistler. The Brew Creek Farm was historically a high end retreat centre with catering to groups with prodcue right here from the farm. While we do still host retreats on site, the farm project was such a hit that it has shifted the focus of the property and we have recently become the first year-round organic production farm in the area! Over the past three seasons we have been making this shift and are now in full operation selling to high end restaurants in Whistler, Squamish and even Vancouver. Additionally, to contribute to the community, over the summer we offer a weekly produce donation to the local food bank. These small steps are progressing us towards becoming a central hub for the future of environmentally conscious agriculture in the region. Already having hosted multiple school groups on site we hope to offer more tours, classes, and workshops to folks in the area to encourage community members to get curious and excited about growing food! It has been a big transition process, but we are already reaping the benefits through nourishing our community, invigorating the food security of the region, and tending to the land in a regenerative manner to honour the beautiful ecosystem that we reside within. Here at the Brew Creek Farm we are inspired by modern farming techniques and alternative agricultural practices. Our produce is carefully cultivated using the most up to date regenerative practices with an emphasis on energy efficiency, nutrient density, taste, and year round production. We harvest from approximately three acres. Below is an overview of what our operation looks like. Indoor - Aquaculture / Aquaponics - a 400 sq ft state of the art aquaponic facility which houses our family of 300 goldfish and koi. This facility was built and designed by team members on site and has been steadily generating 40lbs of lettuce a week on top of our microgreen production. Indoor Tropical Geodesic Dome - We have two geodesic domes here and this is where the Brew Creek Farm originated - picture an indoor secret jungle of tangled fruit vines, tomato trellises' running 10 feet tall, as well as lush perennials such as papaya trees fruiting year round. - Two commercial greenhouses (4000 sq ft each) generating a year round production of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers as well as a place for overwintering cold crops through our winter months. - Microgreen production - up to 70 living trays a week for local fine-dining restaurants to add to salad mixes and as beautiful garnishes - Vermicomposting - we have a worm haven on site, with the sole purpose of decomposing our scraps and providing us with 50lbs of gold (worm castings) a week which we spread generously onto our fields and indoor beds. These casting are essential to our operation as they add a microbial boost of life to our growing systems and protect our crops against pest and disease. We love the worms and all that they provide. - Beneficial Insects - we are not afraid of bugs here and integrate them into our system regularly, always trying to work with them instead of against them. With many climate controlled indoor growing spaces we always try to introduce beneficial bugs to keep these indoor spaces flourishing. Outdoor - 2 acres of outdoor vegetable production on beautiful rich native clay soil - Flower Farm and Perennial Flower beds - Advanced thermophilic and static aerated compost production - Greenhouse construction and repair - Mobile Chicken Tractor There is no shortage of learning opportunities here at The Brew Creek Farm. With both our soil and water based systems we have a wide variety of indoor growing spaces and we are continuously learning what is possible - think harvesting tomatoes throughout the winter in a greenhouse that is heated geothermally through the ground water! We are continuously stretching the boundary of what growing organic food looks like and finding the most energy efficient ways to do it. We have just recently integrated chickens into our project and are looking forward to their contribution to our beautiful ecosystem. Accommodation includes a beautiful modern, house on the property 1100ish sqft equipped with all the amenities you could dream of: - Bedroom / Bunk Bed - Fully equipped shared Kitchen - Air conditioning / Heating - Running water - Flush toilet - Shower - Bathtub - Internet - Big beautiful Deck Food - a weekly food stipend will be offered to our guests to purchase your own food in their beautiful fully equipped kitchen and the option to join in on communal house dinners and the occasional staff bbq. Education - what we can teach you! - permaculture practices and values - 'how tos' of aquaponics and aquaculture - soil food web and soil biology in theory and practice - native birds species and local wildlife - how to integrate carbon sequestration into your practices - how to weed very fast ;) What is expected from you: - A 1 month commitment - with room to grow - 30 hours a week of labour - spread over 4 days, looks like 7 hours/ day with a 30 minute break for lunch - Plant/Livestock knowledge is an asset but not required - Comfortable with labour tasks and getting your hands dirty - Eagerness to learn more about agriculture and food security The position suits someone eager to learn about organic food production, indoor growing systems, and what it takes to grow food in the mountainous rain forest . We are looking for volunteers to assist us in our the early stages of transition and food production. About your WWOOF Coordinator: Hi, I’m Paul. Food, farming, and the connection between people, the land and nourishment are at the heart of what I do. I’m a professional chef by trade, and over the past decade my path has naturally shifted from the kitchen into the field, where growing food has become my passion as it is a complete cycle from seed to plate. As the WWOOF coordinator at Brew Creek Farm, I’m very much hands-on and involved in the day-to-day rhythm of the farm. You’ll find me planting, harvesting, planning crops, coordinating sales, and continually experimenting with new ways to grow high-quality food in a challenging mountain climate. I love sharing what I’ve learned and learning alongside others—curiosity and collaboration are a big part of our culture here. Outside of farm life, I’m happiest outdoors and on the move. Living in the mountains means making the most of every season, whether that’s snowboarding in the winter or paddleboarding, hiking, and camping through the summer months. I’m grateful to manage this project and excited to welcome WWOOFers who are eager to learn, contribute, and be part of this evolving farm project. If this profile has peaked your interest please reach out to me with any questions you may have about the operation. I very much Looking forward to hearing from you and being on this side of the WWOOF experience!

We spent almost 3 months in Brew Creek, between November and January. We had a wonderful stay there. We worked with Paul and Paulina, learning about edible flowers, microgreens, aquaponic systems and also lettuce with biological control of aphids. The farm is a beautiful place, and if you have a car, it will be easy to enjoy the mountain. If not, you may have the chance to share some moments with Paul, Paulina and the others wwoofers as we had, in order to discover Whistler or eat a great meal! The accommodation is excellent, recent and clean. We worked 7 hours per day, 4 days per week, which means a lot of time to enjoy the place. It was a chance to be there.

My 5 weeks at Brew Creek were wonderful - it’s a place where I made some of my best memories. This was my 2nd time WWOOFing, but 1st time on a market farm. If you’re drawn into the beautiful scenes on this profile, here’s what I think could be helpful: Farm Work: There is much to learn at this farm, and those responsible for running it are great teachers. Eli is attentive and checks in often, teaching how to be the most efficient while also providing context to the “how” and “why” of what you’re doing. Paul is expressive and thoughtful, ensuring the quality of the products meets client expectations (restaurants where you can taste the goods of the farm on a delicious plate!) and will work closely with you to iron out concerns or questions. Josh has an academic point of view and is precise, always willing to go in-depth about aquaponics. You will do many things at Brew Creek, so there is something for everybody who's hungry to learn about farming. It is a special place where you can have fun getting your hands dirty and witness your effort transform into something tangible and beautiful. Housing: It is a very nice WWOOFing accommodation - the amenities are similar to what is in a basic apartment. There is a standard of cleanliness you have to keep, and weekly routine check-ups to ensure you are meeting those standards. During my stay, the farm’s management team was working on providing the cleaning supplies necessary so that you’re able to keep the house clean and tidy.

This was my first wwoofing experience and I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to get to know the farm. It is a beautiful property in the middle of nature and much bigger than I could have imagined. I have already seen a few farms in Germany and at this farm I had the impression that they work in a structured and well-planned way. Which is also important, because there are a lot of plants to look after :). I think the domes, the worm farm and the aquaponics system are great. The Wwoofer accommodation is very nice and modern and the whole team was very friendly and open-minded. A big thank you to Eli! He always went out of his way to make sure that we Wwoofers were comfortable and happy. A thousand thanks for this experience Anna

I had an amazing time at the Brew Creek Farm! I stayed for 2 months at the end of the summer and it was great. Lots of learning opportunities about different ways to grow food (indoor and outdoor). There were 3 other woofers during my stay which was pretty nice. Eli, the volunteer coordinator and farmer, was super cool, accommodating and always up for some good banters. If you're not afraid to get your hand dirty and don't mind working 6 hours/day, then the brew creek farm is a gem of a place. The location is so beautiful, located in a beautiful forest. I also enjoyed a lot the sauna. Thanks Eli for the great experience :)

I was here in summer 2024. Very interesting and instructive insights into an innovative, market gardening concept. From the preparation of a plot of land to cultivation; from sowing to care and harvest to final preparation for sale - I experienced real work with (in) the soil, farmers' attitude, and genuine friendship. Thank you, especially to the enthusiastic farmer Eli, the dedicated staff and the other three WWOOFer for the welcoming environment and experience-rich as well as fun (working) days in a remote but idyllic setting.

I loved my time at Brew Creek. The benefit of this farm is that you meet lots of other wwoofers during your time and become like a little family! The work is challenging but super rewarding, and Eli is flexible with shifts and hours. Working with Eli, I learnt a lot about small-scale farming and it was awesome to work with someone who is so passionate and knowledgeable about his work. The accommodation is gorgeous and super homely! You’ll get a stipend while you’re here which will cover some of your food, keep in mind driving distances to supermarkets ! It’s definitely helpful to have a vehicle. Thanks Brew Creek and Eli for having me for such an extended period of time 🤙
