Welcome In 2020 we bought an 80 acre hay field, built a house and added animals. We breed Kiko Goats. We also hatch and raise chickens, collecting eggs daily. Our animals include a couple of large Horses - a Belgian and a Canadian. We need someone with horse experience, and you can ride most days. I (Laurie) am retired and on the farm full time. I do the day to day animal care. My daughter, Melissa, and her husband, Trevor, normally work off the farm as long distance truck drivers. However Trevor has had some serious health issues and recently underwent a double lung transplant. This means that our wwoofers need to be extra vigilant about germs. Lots of hand washing and quarantine at any sign of illness. The anti rejection drugs make it so that a common cold could send Trevor to hospital. We have a Catahoula dog named Sheba. There are also 3 cats, Niko, Lena and Beardo. They all demand lots of love and attention. You will be treated as one of the family. Everyone pitches in for meal prep and clean up. If you enjoy baking we will love you even more. ❤️ Daily Activities: - Caring for animals -including baby goats in April, hatching chicks in Spring and summer. - The horses get ridden around the property most days - for their exercise and our enjoyment. - Poop needs to be collected and composted. - In the summer the hay needs to be mowed, raked, baled, and stacked. The goats like to have their playgrounds updated and will ask for lots of treats. We try to spend lots of time with the young goats to socialize them. We have some small flower and vegetable gardens that always seem to need weeding. Morning Chores: - feed and let out the goats and muck out their areas - feed and release the chickens and scoop out their poop boards. - collect eggs - in the winter feed the fodder that we grow hydroponically, and start more seeds soaking. - pick the horse pastures - soak beet pulp (to feed to horses at dinner time. - fill water buckets for all animals - manure is moved to the compost piles. The horses usually get ridden in the late morning, or in the afternoon. After lunch is pretty much open unless we are haying or have a big project on the go. Currently, we are building a new coop to house our Roosters. This is where your motivation will shine, you can rearrange the goat play areas, build new ones, tidy up the garden, bath the horses (really whatever you feel will best use your time) When the sun sets we do lock up for the chickens and goats which is just getting everyone tucked in their shelters away from predators and fed their dinner. Your room is large, with two single beds. You will have a bathroom to yourself most of the time. Our farm is about an hour west of Edmonton, Alberta, and 2.5 hours east of Jasper. It can seem a bit isolated and quiet, but we enjoy taking day trips into town and to other interesting spots. We are looking for a person who is good at finding their own entertainment. We are happy to drop you off if you want to explore on your own, or you can just tag along with us. During the Summer there are lots of opportunities for hiking etc. You could take the horses or the quad for a ride around the property or our trails. Floating the Pembina river is always a fun activity out here. Seba Beach and Alberta Beach are just a short drive away. There are lots of golf courses and markets nearby. The attractions of Edmonton are just over an hour away - West Edmonton Mall, Telus Science Centre, and other Entertainment venues. In Winter you can go sledding, skating or walking on frozen lakes. When you get back you can warm up in the hot tub... We also have a large craft room if you want to paint or be creative. There is a large selection of art supplies and paper crafting tools to explore. Melissa is the horse specialist, and used to be an instructor. She would be happy to give pointers to help your riding skills. However, we prefer someone who is already comfortable caring for large horses. Year round, our focus is on caring for all the animals on the farm. Wifi is available, most of the time. No smoking. Must be strong enough to handle 20 kg feed bags, and heavy horse feet.

We spent a month at titan ranch and we had a really great time there! Laurie is a very kind and accommodating person. We enjoyed the morning and evening chores which consist in taking care of the animals. We also had a lot of free time to discover the surroundings (we even saw mooses on the property and heard coyotes almost every evening!). Laurie took us to visit different places and also to her watercolor classes and we appreciated it a lot. The place is very quiet, isolated and with beautiful landscapes especially at sunrise and sunset. We saw Northern lights as well! In general, we really enjoyed our staying there and we are thankful for Laurie and Melissa's welcoming. Marine and Lisa

I stayed at Titan Ranch for two weeks and had a truly wonderful time. I was never bored, but also never overworked. The morning and evening chores were fun to do, and I especially enjoyed the riding. Tam and May are very well-mannered horses that you can have lots of fun with. (The other animals were adorable as well, especially the three cats and the dog, who are very affectionate and sweet) Laurie is a great host. She took me to Edmonton and to a watercolor group, both of which were really nice trips. She is very caring and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Thank you for the amazing time i had at Titan ranch!

I spent almost a month on this farm (my first wwoofing experience), and from the very first day I felt warmly welcomed. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, with fresh air all around and a flexible schedule that let you do most of the work when it suits you best. The animals are simply lovely – especially the dog and the three cats, who are always happy to get some attention and cuddles. One of my personal highlights was being able to go riding the horses quite often. The hosts were incredibly kind, even offering to take me places and show me around the area. Thanks to them, I even got the chance to spend a day in Jasper, which was unforgettable. It was a beautiful time, and I would recommend this farm to anyone looking for a relaxed, welcoming WWOOFing experience.

Thank you, Titan Ranch! Our two weeks on the ranch were truly wonderful. We had the chance to help care for the animals – goats, horses, chickens, cats, and the dog – and loved every moment spent in nature and with Laurie’s warm and welcoming personality. We’ll especially miss Lina the cat, who woke us up gently every morning, the fresh air, the peaceful surroundings, and all the cuddles with the animals. Thank you for your incredible hospitality and for giving us the chance to be part of this special place. We wholeheartedly recommend Titan Ranch to anyone! Finn & Florentine

A month full of beautiful memories Thanks to the friendly family, I quickly felt welcome. The atmosphere was always nice and thanks to the easy going mindset I was able to do most of the tasks when it suited me. In addition to the family, all the animals on the farm are very friendly and people-oriented, which made dealing with them very pleasant and fun. Furthermore, it was also very nice that the hosts almost always took me along, which allowed me to learn a lot about the surroundings and everyday life. In addition, I was very pleasant that the hosts also planned day trips or offered to drive me everywhere if I wanted to see something specific in the area. So it never really got boring working here. Overall, I can say it was a wonderful month and I felt very comfortable on the farm. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

We got to spend four weeks in March with Laurie at the ranch and it was such a great time!! Having Laurie as a host was just wonderful, she showed us a lot of places in the area (Edmonton, towns, parks), took us to a weekly watercolour group and made sure that we understood everything about the farm work and how to treat the animals. During our stay we got to witness the birth of extremely cute baby goats, the hatching of chicks, our first Northern Lights and thanks to Melissa we were able to sit on a horse for the very first time! :)) The workload was very well distributed, we did morning and evening chores, dinner, some projects and were still able to get a lot of time for ourselves. That time was mostly spend to play with the three cats and Sheba, so it was really hard to say goodbye. There is so much more to tell about all the experiences and memories we made in just a month and we are very grateful for that!!! <3
