We are a family owned and run lifestyle/ farm start-up. Located in rural Canada in the Northern Rockies on a beautiful 36 acre property.
We are a very active and busy family with growing sheep and goat herds, general repairs and maintenance of both land and out buildings, fencing, and a large commercial greenhouse. There is always something to do and there is never a dull moment. We as a family have a great appreciation for the land and all it gives us. We are continually finding ways to reduce waste and reuse materials, and conduct any maintenance required for both structures and land in a sustainable, efficient, and low-cost fashion.
Since moving onto the farm in 2020, our livestock has doubled in such a short period of time. Thus, doubling the work load and consuming more time.
Our long-term goal is to be fully self-sufficient and eco-friendly (solar energy, etc..) as well as selling organic meat products, herbs, baked goods, and natural health/ beauty products.
This has not been fully reached yet. Being a start-up, the farm is very much still in transition from being a dated log home on 36 acres that had not received any care for many years previous; to becoming the fully functioning and sustainable farm. We are a hard working family of three passionate about farming, animals, and the many benefits hemp/cannabis have to offer. Each day we take small steps towards achieving our goals.
Rustic Duck Run Is only a few hours drives from the Liard Hotsprings- one of our main attractions here in the Northern Rockies! Along the way to the hot springs there are many hiking trails, camping, and plenty of fishing. As an outdoors family we love camping, hunting, and fishing in this area. We’ve been here for years and still have yet to grow tired of all the breathtaking mountains, lakes, and wildlife that surrounds us. Our location is perfect for those who are also on their way or wanting to see Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Alaska!
Organic methods: Ecological rotational grazing, and composting for land/pasture development.
Certifications: Not certified yet on account of being a start-up.
Current projects: Barn construction, fence building, gardening (general), land clearing.
