Hobby Farm
Ontario
We are A small oraganic farm growing for personal consumption. We have free ranging chickens for eggs and a large vegetable garden, berry patches and fruit trees. We store much of our produce for winter use.
We tap the trees for maple syrup in spring and press apples for cider in the fall.
The farm is situated on the Canadian Shield and the land is geologically interesting. It is situated in Centre Hastings county with over 200 mines in the region., if you are interested in geology. We have been using the rocks for rebuilding some of the stone fences. We have an annual drystone workshop where we build a structure without mortar. These are ongoing projects.
You will learn forest trail management, creek restoration, drystone restoration build and maintenance, organic food growing, and storing, seed collection, and growing annual and perennial flowers.
A typical day may involve various tasks depending on time of year and need, lunch made together, time for yourself in the afternoon and evening. Food preparation and clean up is communal.
Music is part of evening activities. Should you wish to join in we have several instruments on site.
We also have a yurt and spring fed ponds for recreational and rental purposes.

This could be one of my best wwoofing experiences ever. Judy is super sweet and good-taste. She is knowledgeable, caring and creative. Her farm is beautiful with lakes and fields nearby. We shared a great time!!

I had the most wonderful experience staying at Judy’s farm as a woofer. Judy is truly the sweetest and kindest host, and I felt so welcomed and cared for from the very beginning. Her farm is absolutely beautiful—full of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and animals—truly a little paradise.
During my stay, we shared so many special moments together: walking through her trails, cooking delicious meals, enjoying her beautiful sauna house, and even exploring her yurt, ponds, and the lovely corners of her land. She showed me around town and even took me on a road trip, which made the experience even more memorable. I especially loved the outdoor shower she built—it was such a refreshing and unique touch!
Her dog, Yofi, is the sweetest angel and quickly became my little companion on the farm. I will truly miss Judy and Yofi, but I know I’ll be back to visit them again. My time here was peaceful, joyful, and one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had.
Highly recommend Judy’s farm for anyone looking for a meaningful, peaceful, and heartwarming woofing experience! 🌿✨

Merci beaucoup Judy!!!

Judy's Sweet Life Farm is in a beautiful area with lots of nature to walk in and a pond to swim in. I spent the week mostly weeding the vegetable garden, and it was satisfying to see the garden cleaned up afterwards and to eat the fresh vegetables. I also loved playing stick/ball with Yofi and running around together!
Breakfast and lunch was up to me, and then Judy and I would cook dinner together and clean up together as well. Judy taught me a lot about gardening and cooking, and I enjoyed learning how to make her special granola and pesto. She is a very good cook and knows how to elevate simple ingredients into a harmonious meal.
As a first time WWOOFER, the Sweet Life Farm experience was exactly what I was looking for. I felt a bit awkward at the start of the week, but Judy helped me settle in and feel at home! I had a really amazing time at the farm and feel very rested.
