We welcome all. We are a Christian family and have a small 41 acre hobby farm located in the beautiful North Okanagan. My husband, myself and occasionally our two sons live on the farm. We raise chickens and also have vegetable and flower gardens. Meals are eaten together - food is typically from the farm and everyone should be able to eat what is prepared.... individuals should be able to eat the food that is made for the family. We may be able to accommodate some food allergies however we are unable to accommodate vegetarian meal plans. There are numerous hiking trails right in the back yard with lakes nearby for swimming , kayaking etc... .In the spring, summer and fall we are looking for someone who is interested in general farm help and assisting with helping with general farm maintenance.  Projects for this spring and summer are gardening, animal care, painting, fencing and general farm maintenance.; As well, for those who are artistic we do pottery ,sculpture, photography and are painting murals on the  hay barn (check out the pictures). We would welcome stays for  longer terms. I can assure you that you will become apart of our family during your stay with us. If you enjoy animals, gardening, playing cards and eating you will love your stay with us and we will love you! THINGS TO DO WITHIN MINUTES OF THE FARM in your spare time there are many fantastic places to visit within a 15 minute drive or less you can find yourself enjoying tubing, canoeing or kayaking down the Shuswap River, hiking the Enderby Cliffs, or cycling through the pastoral landscape that surrounds our farm. For a camping getta-way that is exceptional try the Shuswap Lake Marine Parks for a day or two.  After a day of helping on the farm spend the afternoon with the local farm folk just relaxing at Gardom Lake Provincial Park - a 10 minute drive from the farm. The lake offers fishing, swimming, or borrow one of our canoes and paddle around the serene lake. Within 5 minutes from the farm you can enjoy regular events at Caravan Farm Theatre - see Caravan Farm Theatre's website for a list of events. A 30 minute drive will take you to Okanagan Lake where you can enjoy swimming, scuba diving,  hiking and camping at Ellison Lake Provincial Park . Forty-five minutes in the opposite direction from the Lakes is Silver Star Mountain just waiting to be explored. As well there are many festivals and farmer's markets occurring through the summer months ... we love to show wwoofers our part of the world. Organic methods: We use organic methods such as lady bugs, environmentally friendly home made & store bought products, and manual removal of harmful insects.  Certifications: No certified organic. Current projects: We are currently working on gardening, fencing, building, painting along with the general maintenance on the farm i.e. fencing, repair, etc. As well if you are interested in painting murals we always have projects on the go.  Internet access available

I had the best time on the farm! Everyday I learned something new which was really exciting. After work we often had a swim at the lake, enjoyed a popsicle, baked, watched hockey, played pool, etc. I even had the chance to watch 10 baby chickens hatch. I learned a lot about gardening and flowers since Karyn is the queen of flowers and because of Gerrys guidance I now can easily mix cement. 😃 I loved getting up in the morning and saying hello to all the animals. I feel so lucky that I was able to stay at this beautiful home and meet those kind and fun people. would go back in a heartbeat!

I loved the stay at Karyn and Gerrys place. It´s my second family in Canada. The farm is so lovely and the garden is so beautiful. We did a lot of animal care, gardening, built my first greenhouse and incubate chickens and i loved all of the work! Also i loved all their animals especilly Emma and Stella, the dogs! We had so much fun playing crib or Monopoly cards, watching a movie of course with popcorn (sweet, not salty) Additionally we ride the bike a lot and go to some fun acitvites like the rodeo. I can´t tell, what the best thing at my stay was, but I can say I loved it. I miss you guys! Thank you for the awesome time Karyn and Gerry and the rest of the whole family and Albert.

Best stay ever!  :) although they were already closed for the season Gerry and Kayn were so kind as to take me in for a week and it was great! The moment Gerry picked me up i felt already welcomed and as part of the family, they have a beautiful farm, lovely animals and super cute dogs! It was so much fun working there and going to different places in our freetime or making friendship bracelets in front of the fireplace :D If you want to have a great time with amazing people and even more amazing food this is where you have to go!

I stayed at Karyn & Gerrys place for about two weeks and I really loved it! Karyn and Gerry are such a lovely couple I've never met! There is a beautiful garden and so many lovely flowers there. We did gardening, harvesting and planting, and I really enjoyed all of the work! Also they have lovely animals and I super enjoyed taking care of the animals! After work we had fun activities together and we saw lots of shooting stars at night.  I will never forget this Wwoofing experience.Thank you so much Karyn, Gerry, Adam and Victoria. I miss you guys!

I was at Karyns and Gerrys place for three weeks. I absolutely loved it there. Most of the work we did was in the garden and after the work was done we did a lot of fun things like visiting the rodeo, riding the bikes together, eating ice cream and, the most important thing, playing with Emma and Stella. Thank you for a wonderful time.

I stayed 2 weeks at the farm and it was a wonderful time! You will feel like a family member right from the beginning. Gerry, Karyn and Adam are so nice people! We did so many different things, some kayaking, cooking, painting (Thank you for the opportunity to paint so much! It was a lot of fun!), fotoshootings, hiking,... It will never get boring. I loved taking care of the animals, each of them is so cute and unique. (Sometimes the turkeys can be nice too!) I will miss you and hope to see you again! You gave me a wonderful first WWOOFing-experience! Thank you!
