We are a family-owned and operated non-certified organic diversified vegetable farm located 15 minutes north of Bolton, Ontario. We run a year-round CSA program as well as other income streams including farmers markets, rural skills workshops, and foraging floral materials. As of 2026 we are in our 10th growing season providing summer (weekly) and winter (bi-weekly) produce to our members from June-January. We also have a diverse egg-laying flock of dual-purpose and heritage-breed hens. We are members of the Ecological Farmer's Association of Ontario. WWOOFers would be expected to contribute to the household (cooking, kitchen chores etc) and farm operations, (seeding, greenhouse watering, weeding, planting, harvesting, chicken chores etc). In the spring and fall this would also include some property maintenance (firewood splitting/stacking, general yardwork).  Accommodation: a WWOOFer would be billeted in their own room. Internet access available. Work hours: 30 hours per week. This is the equivalent to 4 days a week with our field crew. The household this summer will consist of me (Sarah, Farm Manager), my mother Sheilagh, our dog Magpie and our three cats Lima, Fern, and Smokey. ore staff include Dana (Field Manager), Elena (Branch Manager), and Annie (Field Hand) and various other workshare and volunteer folks. We have three/four spaces available as of this year: The Plant Room features a separate entrance, sink, single bed and dresser. There is another door to access the common living spaces, bathrooms, shower and kitchen. In the winter we keep our houseplants in this room which is why there are so many in the photo, but most of them will be outside in the summer. From the photos you can see there are a lot of windows, please note that we have since installed blinds for light & privacy:)  The Fire Room: Comfortably furnished with a double bed, side table, chair & Ottoman (not pictured), luggage tresle and two lamps. There IS a fireplace that you're welcome to use after being trained on how to start a fire (if needed) please note The Fire Room has a slighty porouswooden door (barnboard) as a privacy barrier to the Mudroom (The main coming-and-going exit) and so may not be suitable for light sleepers. Tent: If it's your preference to sleep under the stars somewhere else on the property for your whole visit or during a portion of it, we have a two-person tent and sleeping bag we can provide and you will have use of all the inside amenities you desire. Organic methods: Compost teas, cover cropping, companion planting, pollinator friendly, physical barriers instead of pesticides, low-till.  Certifications: We use ecological practises and have so far opted not to get certified for financial/logistical reasons. Current projects: In addition to fieldwork and harvesting, infrastructure/ farming adjacent projects for 2026 include moving greenhouse (mid summer) building a big garden by the house (spring) building a chick brooding set up (spring), rainwater collection system (spring/early summer) and many other smaller projects that have yet to make themselves known to me haha Parts of the day you are not volunteering hours toward the farm operations can be spent however you like; walking, cooking, cat entertaining (we have 3), reading (we have a large library for your perusal:) and a growing assortments of instruments to play! As a household we're always striving towards DIY-homesteading type stuff in regard to food preparation, so any bread-bakers or food-fermenters out there are welcome to play around in the kitchen. GETTING TO THE FARM: You can drive straight here if you have a car! Or Bike! From Toronto: We attend the Sorauren mrket in Roncesvalles on Mondays beginning May 18th and can bring back 1-2 people if given enough notice. WWOOFers would meet Sarah at the market before she leaves at 7pm. From Pearson International: please detail in request what your flight number, terminal and arrival time is and we will see how/if we can pick you up! GO Bus: The route 38 bus comes through Bolton on weekdays in the Morning and afternoon. please see GO website schedule for details. We can pick up at any stop along 50 but prefer Columbia Way

I’m very grateful to have stayed at Mount Wolfe Farm for my first WWOOF experience. Everyone I met was incredibly kind and welcoming, so as the three lovely cats in the house. The farm is very well organized. I always received clear instructions and demonstrations for the work, which was very helpful for a beginner like me. I learned something new almost every day: harvesting crops I had never seen before, such as ground cherries and tomatillos; learning how to hand-weed or use tools to help with; and how to set up irrigation systems etc. As someone who has always lived in the city, I used to spend too much time on social media. During my stay here, I was able to slow down and reconnect with nature. In my free time, I really enjoyed walking along the trails, reading, and petting the cats. I was also very lucky with the beautiful weather, which allowed me to enjoy the sunshine, gentle breeze, and birds chirping. These peaceful moments are something I will definitely remember. Thank you so much for having me!

Everyone I met at Mount Wolfe Farm made my first Wwoofing experience feel like a dream. Two weeks just flew by with joy and awesome experiences. Sarah is an awesome host, and her connection within this community just makes me feel so amazed. I feel immediately bonded with this place, the love people put into this farm, and how everyone is contributing to make it better. Workdays are well organized; mornings usually include harvesting and planting, and afternoons are more about weeding. I got to learn so much on the field, how different plants can impact the soil and how we can utilize that to boost crop growth. The fields in this farm are located in different parts of this hill; riding the Kubota to different fields is like an adventure every time.

This was my first-ever WWOOF experience, and I’m truly grateful for the time I spent at Mount Wolf Farm. Everyone — Sarah’s family, the farm crew, the three cats, and Magpie — was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Sarah is knowledgeable, caring, and thoughtful, and she creates a warm and well-organized environment. The homemade meals were wonderful, and you can also freestyle your own meals with the farm’s fresh vegetables and meats. I’m an early riser, so the working hours worked perfectly for me: usually 7:30 AM–11:30 AM, lunch from 11:30 AM–12:30 PM, then work again from 12:30 PM–3:30 PM, with free time afterward. The schedule may change depending on weather, but the farm genuinely cares about everyone’s well-being. If the heat gets too intense around noon, you can work later in the afternoon instead. Sarah also has plenty of fiction books if you enjoy reading during your free time. As someone from a fast-paced office environment with a brain that never seems to stop thinking, time felt slower at the farm, and the noise in my mind quieted down. Yes, you’ll get dirty and muddy, greeted by some mosquitoes, and feel tired by the end of the day. But in the best way, it feels like a cleanse for the body, mind, and spirit. I got to try planting, harvesting, stacking wood, removing shrubs, weeding, scything, and learning about wood chips and molds. I even climbed trees (just for fun haha) It’s a beautiful memory that will forever stay.

It was a pleasure for me to have stayed at Mount Wolfe Farm. This is a magical place full of wonderful people. Sarah and Sheilagh were immediately welcoming and hospitable to me when I arrived. I stayed for a month during spring and got the opportunity to do all kinds of exciting work with seeding, planting, and harvesting. Everyone who works on the farm are lovely and knowledgeable people who are enthusiast about their work. I had an amazing experience here and would highly recommend any woofer to volunteer here. Thank you Mount Wolfe Farm!

Sarah and her mother (Sheilagh) + Dog (Mags) and three cats, were the sweetest hosts. They are the kind of folks who can wear a smile even if it's freezing rain and the power is out.(NO that didn't happen don't worry. ) Staying at Mount Wolfe is like staying in a Bob Ross painting, with phenomenal unobstructed "big ol' skies" and the darling farmhouse is right out of a jigsaw puzzle. The best thing about this lifestyle is that time slows down. The meals were simple/humble but fresh, delish and super healthy; Sheilagh makes a wicked quiche, very comforting. If you work hard and wear a smile, you will be rewarded here. : ) : )

My time at Mount Wolfe Farm was truly regenerative in all senses of the word! As my first experience of WWOOFing and of Canada itself, I could not have hoped for more generous, thoughtful hosts or a better team of workers to learn from. Sarah, her mom, Sheilagh, and her aunt Debbe all shared their memories of this multigenerational venture in sustainable farming, forest stewardship, and community building. This woman-led farm has set up a practical ongoing structure of mutual learning among themselves, their team of workers, other regional farmers and growers - and with the Ontario Land Skills Network which offers workshops throughout the year in various locations, including on such skills as hide-tanning, basketry, fruit tree pruning - and spoon carving! After my WWOOFing visit, I returned to Mount Wolfe Farm in early October for the 7th annual Spoonmoot and got hooked on spooning! Some practical details of the WWOOF experience: Mount Wolfe Farm provided a comfortable private bedroom with plenty of space, a wide variety of foods that I could cook with as best fit my dietary needs, and a variety of delicious shared meals - Sarah is a great cook! Rain-or-shine work days are usually Tues-Fri, from 8am-4pm or 7am-3pm, depending on how hot it is. Expectations and explanations of the work are clearly communicated, and there's a strong shared work ethic that is energized by the wonderful long conversations encouraged by the team planting, weeding, and harvesting structure.
