Five Baers farm is a small acreage in the beautiful Chilliwack river valley, our farm has a gorgeous view and is very close to a salmon bearing river.
we have an Airbnb where we have to do some work and also a woodshop where we build everything from furniture to rocking motorcycles for little kids and work on some renovation or improvement projects
you will have the opportunity to learn a lot from making a bed to building wooden toys, we are looking forward to seeing an enthusiastic couple or a single person who wants to learn these kind of skills
additionally of course we are an organic farm and have many garden beds we have to do irrigation and planting and weeding

Seiya
Last year we had a young Japanese WWOOFer named Seiya stay with us for about nine weeks. During that time he became part of our family. He was one of the kindest, gentlest, most respectful young men we have ever met. We all loved him.
Seiya wanted to travel across North America after leaving us, but like many WWOOFers he didn't have much money. We helped him buy an old van, and I built him a bed and fixed it up with the basics so he could live and travel in it. Before he left, he stayed with us again for about ten days at our house on Protection Island.
From there he drove to Tofino. While he was there, he was caught in a rip current and drowned. We were devastated. I have lost people in my life, but I have never grieved for anyone like I grieved for Seiya. He was such a gentle soul, always smiling, always thankful, and a true gentleman. We think about him often, and we will never forget him.
His van means a lot to us because it reminds us of him. We have decided to keep using it the way Seiya would have wanted. When it is available, we rent it to other WWOOFers for a very reasonable price. Most young travellers cannot afford to rent a vehicle, and without one they miss seeing so much of this beautiful country.
It makes us happy to know that the van is still helping young people have adventures, just like it helped Seiya. In a small way, it keeps his memory alive, and we think he would have liked that.
