We are a family of 3; Lee Annie and Aurora Sol [our 17-year-old daughter] living on a ~60-acre farm which borders the Canadian Shield, about an hour east of Winnipeg, Manitoba (~10 minutes east of Whitemouth). This area is surrounded by 3 major parks: the Whiteshell, Agassi, and Sandilands. The Whiteshell River is nearby and offers recreational opportunities such as tubing, paddling, etc.
 Our goal for this land is the continued stewardship of its pastures, forests and waters. We have established gardens and care for horses, ducks, chickens, as well as our family cats/dogs. We're using organic farming practices and would love people to share their knowledge and experiences with us. We have a small spring-fed lake on our property, which waters our animals, gardens and is a lovely spot for swimming.
The work around the farm is varied and endless! We have sheds, fences and gates that need fixing, as well as animals and gardens to tend. There is always foraging, harvesting and processing to do. We always have a ton of building projects on the go – so if you love to tinker, build and fix – you will have endless things to keep you busy! Art is also a significant focus of the farm. Annie paints murals with students in schools and communities throughout Manitoba, and will be working on some panel murals at the farm over the course of the summer. So if you enjoy making art, there’s plenty of opportunity for creativity!
We are very accommodating, welcoming children and calm, well behaved pets. The nearest town is Whitemouth (stores, small restaurant, bank, etc.). In fall, we host a small music festival on the farm. And with winter prep, autumn is a busy time at the farm! Wwoofers are welcome throughout spring to fall months (around May – November)
