Family home and garden semi- rural, Hobby Farm, Women-operated
British Columbia
Nestled in the rich soil of a broad river valley, among the rolling hills, beauty is abundant and colorful in our gardens.
* Ebus is now available from Vancouver to Kamloops, please see Wwoof website for further travel tips. Rider Express also serves BC and Alberta.
*My husband and I enjoy the diversity of the nationalities who visit us, and share lifestyle conversations over the dinner table.
*Our goal is to provide ourselves (and Wwoofers) with wholesome organic food, and to farm in a sustainable way. One example sustainability is to rotate the animals through different pastures or on the vegetable garden, so they will fertilize it. Our turkeys and chickens grain diet is enhanced with the organic squash and other vegetables from our garden.
*We teach the ways of preserving (canning) and drying, and storing food to last through the winter.
*Wwoofer participation in the preparation of meals, and or baking is invited and encouraged, and in the fall your participation in pickling, and making the salsa that is our specialty, is definitely a great joint creation. *In May we start planting the garden and feeding the meat chickens, maintaining the gardens and lawns, watering the field, completing new projects. Throughout the summer we enjoy fresh veg and berries. In the fall we will be harvesting the large vegetable garden, making salsa, and caring for 500 chickens and 100 turkeys. The large organic garden has fruit trees, raspberries and grape vines, as well as a diverse vegetable patch that feeds us from first harvest (June) until the following April or May.
*The "work" tasks that we teach, involve the husbandry of animals, planting, weeding, harvesting of produce, repair/construction of chicken coops, or fencing. Learning about irrigation systems, moving the irrigation gun on the hay field, and in setting the drip lines in the vegetable gardens.
*I teach pruning techniques on our fruit trees, and in the many flower and shrub gardens. We use power mowers, trimmers and other mechanical equipment in the maintenance of the landscape, and of course you receive instruction on the use and care of them. Some practical carpentry experience would be helpful, but the ability to learn quickly and work without supervision thereafter is of great value. Our work week is 6 hours for 5 days. The hours are flexible during the season, early starts in the heat of the summer, and a swap of a rainy weekend for a switch for sunny weekdays, at times.
*Your personal space would be a separate living room and bedroom downstairs, with bath upstairs. (The cleaning and tidying of this area would be your responsibility).
* We enjoy playing horse shoes, bocce or croquet on our lawns. Darts, cards or board games in the evenings if the weather is cool. On weekends we attend the Farmers' Market downtown, and like to show our guests the outdoor recreation in the Kamloops area, and take them to different events, or parties, plays and dinners.
*Our recent Wwoofers spent their day off in our canoe on the river beside us, and travelled 45 km down to Kamloops Lake. The next day they were hiking the "hoodoos" 1/2 hour from our home.
*We would like to invite you to include us in your Wwoofing, travelling experience, and are pleased to help with travel routes and "great places" to visit. We encourage Wwoofer comments on this page.
Organic methods: All of our gardens are fertilized with the composted chicken, turkey and manure, mixed with vegetable compost. Our poultry are kept in the brooder house for up to one week, and thereafter raised naturally, outside under fruit trees and shrubs and fed nonGMO grains.
Certifications: not certified. but we use no chemicals on land that we grow food on, nor land that the animals graze on,.
Current projects: We always have fence (hard & electric) fencing to keep up, or modify. We usually have some small scale building project that we are creating. This year it will be a storage shed for equipment, and modification of the turkey brooder house.

Sullindeo Farm is an absolutely wonderful place, and the hosts are truly exceptional people. I spent over five weeks here and had such a fantastic time! When it was time to leave, I honestly wanted to stay longer, but I had other beautiful spots in British Columbia left to explore.
During the first few days, I was learning the ropes and figuring out the rhythm of the garden work. Tricia and Leo are really welcoming and kind hosts, which made adapting to farm life so easy. Having spent such a long time there, it truly began to feel like family, both with them and the other WWOOFers.
I especially enjoyed meeting Tang. We had a great time together, and I'll always remember our fun hikes and trips around the Kamloops area. Plus, the evening game sessions with Tricia, Leo, and Tang were always a blast!
I also really enjoyed the company of the other WWOOFers I met there. Murad taught me how to make truly delicious falafel and hummus, and Linda was a wonderful person for insightful conversations about life.
I want to extend a massive thank you to my new grandma, Tricia, to our (Tang's and mine) favourite "grumpy old man," Leo, to Shadow the cat, and to all the lovely turkeys who never failed to brighten my days!

I am very happy to be here on this farm, with its beautiful house and garden, and the fresh fruits and vegetables, and those cute turkeys. Tricia and Leo treat us like their own children. I especially enjoy the times when we prepare food together, because it gives me the feeling of being at home.
During my three weeks here, we went to the river and several lakes, enjoying peaceful and beautiful afternoons. I also went hiking with Kathleen nearby, and from the hillside the view of Kamloops was truly stunning. I miss you guys , and thank you so much.

April 2025
I stayed for 14 days in April with Tricia and Leo and had a absolutely wonderful time. They welcomed me warmly with an amazing dinner after my bus was 2 hours delayed. My bedroom was lovely with enough space to put my clothes away. Tricia even has loads of different work clothes to borrow.
We spend the morning in the garden, watering the seedlings, transfering them, taking care of strawberries and of course weeding. We also prepared the barn and yard for the chicks. Tricia always looked out, that the work changes and is weather dependent. The hours are flexible. So one afternoon we spent playing in the garden. Tricia took me also to the theater, a hike and to dinner with neighbours.
I absolutely loved the food and the difference every day. We had great conversations and cultural exchange. I walked every evening to the river and it is also possible to go up the mountain. There are different paths and dirt roads to explore the woods and grassland. It is an amazing country and view up there.
Thank you so much for your time and hospitality Tricia and Leo.

November 2024
I spent around 6 weeks at Sullindeo Farm with Tricia and Leo. It was my first Wwoofer Farm. I am very grateful for the time I spent with them. The tasks were harvesting the vegetables, weeding, painting the garage or preparing the garden for the next season. Our schedule depended on the weather, so we also explored the area together during the week when the weather was nice, went to the movies/theater or played board games together. I was also allowed to use Tricia's car to go into town. I had my own room. Tricia is well prepared for Wwoof and has a separate closet for clothes so that your own doesn't get dirty or ruined.
I really enjoyed the time and was able to improve my English step by step. They were very patient with me. Thank you for that.

I spent 4 weeks with Tricia and Léo and received a very warm welcome. They were also very patient with my level of English and thanks to them I am progressing.
Tricia is a lovely person who cares about her guest's comfort. We shared some great conversations together and some lovely moments around Kamloops.
Léo is also a lovely person who always has interesting things to say.
They both have a great sense of humor and are a pleasure to spend time with.
I spent a lot of time with Tricia, who organizes the work in the garden.
I had the opportunity to do many different tasks in the garden and around the house. Tricia has a lot of equipment and knowledge which makes her work very efficient.
On weekends I was able to visit and enjoy the area which is very beautiful.
They also have a cat who is very cuddly.
I really had a great time with them. They also cook great meals with the garden's harvests.
I can only recommend you to come and stay with them.
Thank you Tricia and Léo, I hope to see you again.
