Homestead farm/Geese, chickens, ducks, goats, dogs, cats!
British Columbia
We live on riverfront acreage in beautiful Paradise Valley, situated between Vancouver and Whistler. We grow organic/biodynamic vegetables, herbs and flowers for our community, family and friends, make our own organic/biodynamic composts for our gardens, fruit trees and a variety of berries, and tend our herd of mischievous goats, flock of healthy & happy chickens, Geese, ducks, and proud roosters!!! In 1992, myself, my partner and our daughter began to homestead our 10 acres from thick forest & raw earth using the greenest building practices possible, slowly establishing our generous vegetable, herb & flower gardens, rolling pastures & growing our timber frame joinery business along the way. Throughout this time, we remained aware of the need to minimize any harmful ecological impacts that our work could have on our land! Invigorate your lungs with the fragrant forest air on one of our meandering paths down to the river! Mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, swimming in our beautiful nearby lakes, or taking a yoga mat down to our sandy quiet riverbank, are one of the many wonderful activities you can be part of! There isn't a day that goes by that we don't feel blessed with what we have and are surrounded with!!! Work will involve: building composts, tending gardens, seeding, seed saving, weeding, mulching and harvesting veg and herbs, feeding goats, chickens, ducks and geese, chopping wood, forest maintenance and participating in various building projects. Learning, laughing and sharing of knowledge is also very much a part of our daily work. Cozy and private bedroom in main house for single or a couple , for the adventurous souls, camping at our beautiful river bank or staying in our independent trailer down at the workshop is also possible. When creating our delicious meals we try to use as much of our own organic homegrown ingredients as possible. Three nourishing meals, showers and laundry are provided in the main house. We prefer a three week minimum stay. Welcoming open minded, independent, hardworking individuals who wish to, or already have a deep appreciation, respect, love & connection to nature. Looking very much forward to meeting you : )

Staying with Claudia and Ian was an inspiring, fun and insightful experience. From the very beginning, they made me feel welcome and comfortable in a warm, authentic and open environment. Both have a deep knowledge of sustainability, upcycling and environmental awareness, which they generously share, while also being genuinely interested in the lives, thoughts and experiences of their guests.
Helping out in the gardens and with the animals gave me a real sense of how much work, responsibility and passion it takes to care for this place and to live in harmony with nature. It was rewarding to be part of that rhythm, even for a short time.
I especially appreciated the hospitality, the many conversations, laughter and shared moments, as well as the delicious meals. Arriving in autumn meant I could enjoy plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden – easily one of the healthiest and most enjoyable diets I’ve had.
Claudia’s love for cooking and her endless recipe ideas made the exchange about food and different cuisines especially enjoyable. Ian is an impressively efficient barista, masters eggs in any form and patiently taught me both practical farm skills and woodworking techniques in his workshop. Working with him on wood projects was a perfect match for my own interest in woodworking.
Claudia and Ian are thoughtful, respectful and inspiring people who truly care about nature, people, body and mind. I hope to visit again – it was a lovely and memorable time!

What I enjoyed most during my three-week stay at Paradise Creations? Claudia's and Ian's passion they put into their homestead every day, their holistic approach on wellbeing, and their genuine kindness and hospitality. They are remarkable hosts truly willing to share their home, heart, stories and knowledge, so helping them working side by side was not only a fun but also enriching experience. I learned a lot about animal care, growing veggies organically, harvesting, composting, processing fruits, herbs and veggies in the kitchen, and Canadian ways of life.
Work hours, accommodation and meals (high-quality and truly yummy) are exactly as described and I don't want to repeat other Wwoofer's reviews, so to keep it short, I'm thankful for having had such a wonderful time in Paradise Valley and meeting these two amazing people whom I wish all the best continuing their joyful and exciting life!

My stay with Ian and Claudia exceeded my expectations by far. Not because of the work or the time, but because I grew a wonderfull relationship with them, that I believe will be ever lasting!
Ian and Claudia have build a homestead with the love for nature, organics and biodynamics. They have three amazing goats 🐐, two ducks 🦆, 9 geese 🪿 and a bunch of chickens for the compost, meat and eggs.
During my time there, I very much fell in love with the animal routine. Cleaning the stalls in the morning and giving feed and preparing them for the night in the evenings.
In and around the garden I did a bunch of tasks like berry picking (tay, raspberry, gooseberry, blackberry), weed whacking and helped with planting and harvesting ( beans, beats, peas, kale, salad, tomatoes and potatoes and more)
Besides those tasks, I also helped Ian in his amazing wood workshop! From building a tiny home, cutting down and working the logs of a big dead tree out of the forest, to milling logs into lumber slabs, for his unique cutting board projects. He does pretty much anything, and seems to have the tools for everything too😅.
I learned a lot of physical and mental skills in my time with them, from spirituality all the way to cooking.
Meditations in the morning and sometimes Yin Yoga in the evenings keeps us flexible mentally and physically and cooking in the kitchen with the healthiest food you can imagine.
Thank you Ian and Claudia for the great time!

July 2025
We were about 3 weeks with Claudia and Ian and the stay was an experience!
We lived together in the house but had an separate entrance, cozy bedroom and bathroom.
Every day was different and there was no typical schedule. Our daily routine began with feeding the animals, went for a walk with the goats and watered the beds. Compared to our other woofing experience on another farm in Canada we had very less work and tasks. But since we also did most of the cooking for everyone, that was fine. We were there more to talk and connect than to work 😊During the day, we had to follow the hosts' schedule and it was difficult to do anything ourselves in the evenings or to spend free time as a couple, except on weekends. On the other hand, we had lots of interesting deep talks and were able to refresh our English. The days with Ian in the workshop were amazing with funny conversations. We learnt a lot and enjoyed the fresh food and nature. Thank you for everything!

We are a couple from Taiwan and can only speak simple English, but the hosts were very kind and patient. We stayed for almost a month, and they shared how they use farm resources to create a natural cycle—so smart and inspiring!
In late October, we helped move vegetables to the greenhouse, plant garlic, pick mushrooms, harvest apples, make compost, cut firewood, and feed animals. Their two cute dogs even catch fish from the stream!
We shared meals daily, enjoying fresh vegetables and homemade salad dressing (better than restaurants!). We also did yoga, played music, visited a haunted house, and made Christmas wreaths. It was great to enjoy life without phones.
We hope to return! If you love cultural exchange and organic farming, this is a perfect place.

We stayed with Claudia and Ian for about 4 weeks and had a great WWOOFing experience.
We had a nice room in their cozy house and they both are great cooks and we enjoyed all the fresh, organic and delicious meals. Most of the food they used, came from their own garden. During and after meals we had many interesting conversations which we enjoyed very much.
Our work day started at 8:30 am with feeding the animals. After that we had breakfast and then started with our tasks (cleaning the animals, chopping branches, mulching, pruning berries, fixing potholes, helping Ian with his woodwork, …). Around 1:00 pm we took a lunch break and continued with our tasks afterwards. Our day ended around 5:00 pm after we fed the animals and locked them up. The weekends were off.
In our free time we explored the beautiful area around Squamish (SeaToSky Gondola, day trip to Whistler, Christmas markets in Vancouver,…).
But we also did a lot with Claudia and Ian (we took part in their Yin yoga sessions, baked Christmas cookies, built our own gingerbread house and enjoyed movie nights with some popcorn).
Both were super nice and loving, so we felt comfortable from the very first moment and, above all, enjoyed spending the Christmas season with them.
They were also always super grateful for everything, which we really appreciated. It was also nice to notice that they really cared about us and our lives.
We will definitely remember you both. Thank you for your support and your open nature .
