Currently seeking wwoofers for Spring and Fall 2025 - preparing and tending gardens, production of our natural body care products, and animal chores. We are currently looking for WWOOFers for the last week of May and month of June! **** If you love animals, we're the farm for you! We love our horses, dairy goats, alpacas, chickens, a donkey, cats and dogs. We specialize in goat-milk soap and natural care products. Help with the gardens and summertime weekly produce orders includes medicinal herbs. Our primary field crop is hay on our 160 acres so if you come in July-September you might get to stack haybales - our favourite workout. May is goat-kidding season and the busiest and most exciting time. Alpaca shearing happens also in May but they usually have their cria (babies) in June. We can host two wwoofers at a time and can host couples or friend groups. We require stays of one month or longer (takes a while to learn the ropes and we really like to get to know our wwoofers!) We are about 4 miles to our town, St. Norbert, in the south end of Winnipeg. There you can also catch a city bus to go downtown to many attractions. We enjoy a variety of other activities ourselves, especially music. We have had an amazing 15+ years in the wwoofing program and have made some special friendships. Special thanks to our wwoofers so far who have shared the load and brought their magic to our farm! Thank-you all so much for helping us through our growing pains and for teaching us how to be better hosts. We have a completely separate living space where wwoofers will stay at this time. It has a queen size bed, room for an additional cot, a woodstove, kitchenette, TV with a few channels and a DVD player. There is a bathroom and shower accessible in our nearby store. There are books, games, puzzles for rainy days as well. Organic methods: Large-scale composting, no-low-till, no synthetic products whatsoever, mulch, water conservation, companion planting, crop rotation, moon-cycle planting, rain-water collection, solar powered, minimal diesel. Certifications: In process of obtaining certification Current projects: Between May - September, lots of gardening and harvest work. Throughout the year, animal care and daily chores are always needed. Making goat's milk soap and natural body care products to sell on and off site. Touring groups who come to visit the farm, hosting visitors to the farm on the weekends. Internet access available

Dear Louise and the Aurora Farm team, thank you so much for the three weeks we were able to spend on your farm. From the very beginning, we felt warmly welcomed. Louise, your openness, knowledge, and the way you interact with both animals and people truly impressed us. You were not only a wonderful host but also a genuine inspiration. The rest of the team also made sure, with kindness and humor, that we quickly found our way and felt comfortable. The conversations with you added great value to our stay. The tasks on the farm were varied and always enjoyable. From working in the stables to gardening and soap making, every day was different but always well organized. The workshops were a special highlight, offering fascinating insights that made our time on the farm even more meaningful. At the same time, there was plenty of time to relax and go on excursions, creating a pleasant balance. Our cabin accommodation was cozy and provided everything we needed with its own kitchen and wood stove. It was a lovely, private retreat after fulfilling days of work. The time with you was one of the most memorable phases of our six-month journey through Canada. It moved us deeply, opened up new perspectives, and showed us how enriching meaningful work can be. We leave with many impressions, valuable memories, and the profound feeling of having been part of a special place. If we ever return to Canada, we would definitely love to come back to the farm.

Hi👋 I have been on this farm for just over a month and can recommend it without a bad conscience. Louise and the team are all friendly and open peaps. If you like being around animals and cool dogs and learning things like making goat milk soap or learning how to ride a horse, you've come to the right place.

Aurora Farm is the best Wwoofing experience I have ever had. Louise, Aynsleigh and everyone at the farm were so welcoming right from the beginning. I learned a lot about milking goats, how to make natural goat milk soap, and met many amazing humans and animals. There is always something to do at the farm and it is never boring. I got a chance to ride horses almost every day which is a dream for me. I loved helping to make all the products and chatting with people who visit the farm on Open Farm days, telling them fun stories about all the animals. Thank you Louise for the amazing time and I hope to visit in the future!

Aurora Farm is the best farm if you want to have a great WWOOFing experience. Louise is a great person and can teach you a lot about gardening, natural body care products, animals and nature. The farm is a very special place. The animals are soooooo cool. Best trained horses, most chilled cow (Jeffrey), cuttest donkey (Jellybean) and beautiful goats and alpacas. There are so many different work opportunities on the farm and Louise does a great job with finding the right thing for everybody. The farm has lots of friends, volunteers and friends that come around, so there is always somebody around and it is great to learn about the area and get to know the locals. We had a great time, thank you so much Luise and I hope there are many more motivated WWOOFers to have a outstanding experince at Aurora FArm! :)

Louise saved me from a terrible farm and offered to take me in immediately. I learned lots about goats, met very nice people and survived Manitoban winter ;) I can highly recommend her as a host if you like dogs, horses, alpacas, goats and love cats. If you don't, this might not be the best place for you. Thanks again for everything, Louise!

Words fail me when it comes to describing Aurora. I was a wwoofer here for about a month, and all I can say is: it is an adventure! Louise, Zona, and the whole community are welcoming and interesting folk. Louise holds a great deal of knowledge on keeping a farm growing, being a strong activist, and all things goat. You may have the chance to experience a trail ride, tabling at the farmer's market, making goatmilk soap, guiding public farm days, shearing alpacas, kidsitting, milking, and refilling the muskovy pool! (Trust me, it's exciting.) There is also endless opportunities to care for and cuddle the animals. I should warn you to prepare yourself for heart melting.I feel truly lucky to have met all the beautiful beings at Aurora. :)Best wishes,Martine
