2023 was our 50TH ANNIVERSARY! So we have been here a while. As the farm has aged so have we. Nevertheless we are still excited to host returnees and to welcome new wwoofers from around the world! We are a family farm breeding Canadian Warmblood horses. We have hosted over 1000 volunteers and are pleased to share our country life style with visitors from all over the world. Currently we are booking for the fall and winter. I will be going in for knee replacement surgery at the end of October so it would be great to have additional help for November and December.
Most of our horses live outside in small to larger herds which gives our volunteers an opportunity to learn first hand natural horse behavior. Year round there is always lots to do with our herd of 50 Warmblood horses on five quarter sections of land. Depending on the time of year, this includes training, breeding, foaling, weaning, stall cleaning, showing, feeding, grooming, selling, fencing etc.
Other farm work includes repairs on buildings, equipment and machines, landscaping, gardening, haying, building projects, logging, cutting firewood, cooking, housekeeping, and caring for sheep. Our focus is the breeding, training and selling of our horses for jumping, dressage and three day events.
A renovated hip roof barn with additions serves as our home where we welcome our wwoofers in either single or shared rooms.
We produce some of our own meat. Our non vegetarian meals can accommodate special needs of vegetarians, non wheat, non dairy, low carbohydrate, etc. most of the time.
Each year, besides helping with the horses, we can use the talents of gardeners, internet savvy tech people and of course anyone with mechanical skills. We are also planning on a few construction projects.

Languages: English is our language but we do have some family members (who are not always here) that speak German and French.
Organic methods: We do not use herbicides, or pesticides on our land and we utilize our manure for fertilizer.
Current projects: Year round handling and training horses, especially spring, summer and fall. During the winter it is mainly maintenance care of the horses when the weather is very cold. In addition we want to address the problem of bank erosion on the river that circles around us.
We have always been interested in alternative energy, but lacked the expertise and resources so anyone with interest or skills in this area would be very welcome.
