Retreat Space and Gardens - Rural agritourism destination, Homestead, Orchard, Mixed Farm
Ontario
Experience Ravenstar (formerly known as Harvest Moon, where we welcomed guests and travellers from around the world since 1997!).
Now we invite you to be a part of our new vision! Ravenstar, an exciting and immersive experiential tour centre and Garden cafe. We are building upon the legacy of Harvest Moon Organic Bakery and Gardens and making a space to go deeper into the world of art, celebration, cuisine, nature, spirit, and human connection. We are transforming our 25 acre (10 ha) organic farm property into a magical project in the central Bruce Peninsula. RavenStar is home to extensive vegetable and herb gardens, perennial flower beds, sculpture lined nature trails, a small maple sugar bush, wetlands, a tree-house, a geodesic event dome, and a passive solar home, and more.
Here, our guests will Pause, Explore and and Explore this ancient and sacred landscape. We want visitors to connect in an authentic way to themselves, each other, the broader community and to a sense of purpose greater than ourselves. Discover yourself immersed in magical spaces, celebrating connection and breathe in the cycles of the natural world. RavenStar special events include music performances, markets, full moon circles, night time activities, celebrations and more.
WWOOF work here is varied, creative, dynamic and fun which is why many of our WWOOFers often return or even move to the neighborhood. Tasks here include all aspects of gardening from soil preparation and seeding to weeding, pruning, and harvesting. Occasional or seasonal activities include brewing, preserving, cider making and drying and more. New nature trails are being established here creating opportunities for art and sculpture creation, grounds keeping, landscaping new gardens, medicinal herb harvesting and some wildcrafting.
The Bruce Peninsula is home to two national parks, the spectacular Bruce Trail, Provincial nature reserves, rare flora and fauna, a bird observatory, a dark night sky preserve, countless beaches, world famous rock climbing and scuba diving, a First Nations community, quaint tourist towns and more. After work activities include swimming, hiking, caving, music nights (musicians welcome), picnics at the beach, stargazing, moonlit walks, a potluck at a friends, catching a band at a local pub or just philosophizing around the bonfire just to name a few.
Organic methods: compost, landscape fabric, manure, mulching, hand weeding , integrating as much permaculture in our farm/lifestyle, use of certified organic ingredients and home grown produce in our food service operations.
Current projects: Planting for the 2025 season, orchard pruning, medicinal herb work and harvesting, finishing work in the geodesic dome, trail maintenance, art projects, helping prepare for the weekly market, etc.
The food here is great. We try to eat a lot of our own produce and other local seasonal foods. We're vegetarian but can accomodate vegans. We all take turns cooking so bring a favourite recipe.
We have room for 2 to 3 people at a time in a private bunkie/cabin and prefer stays of around 3 weeks.
Let's exchange experiences of L-I-V-I-N'. We do prefer WWOOFERs who are genuinely interested in the principles of sustainablity, homestaeding, organic growing, and skill sharing, or are preparing to start their own projects. Lets see where we can help each other! Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom!

Our stay at Tina and Graham's (and Griffon's!) RavenStar was WONDERFUL. They really took care of our wellbeing and allowed us contribute to their amazing projects according to our interests and skillsets. We worked in the garden, in the bakery and at the market - and all of it felt fun and rewarding, we left as better people for all of our new skills and knowledge.
They involved us in their community and shared all the aspects that made the Bruce Peninsula such a brilliant destination - we could not have asked for a more inviting stay. Tina and Graham are simply the best.
It felt great to help work towards the magical vision for their property, and we would reccommend this spot to other creatively minded Wwoofers.
Lastly, shout out to Rupert, the busiest kitty on the Bruce!

Graham and Tine were absolutely WONDERFUL hosts! I cannot recommend them enough. Their home is incredibly charming and such a delight to visit. It was near many beautiful hikes and scenic views.
They were so kind in sharing advice about the area, best places to go etc. Additionally, they shared common spaces in their home for relaxing and resting.
They were willing to accommodate to our abilities, needs and timelines which was incredibly helpful given our somewhat limited abilities as a pair with limited experience in farming. The activities were well varied.
The meals were delicious and accommodations were comfortable. Again we had a wonderful time staying with Tina and Graham and would highly recommend it to anyone interested!!

I stayed 3 weeks in this magical place and I already know that I will come back!
Tina and Graham are admirable people who have a sense of sharing and humor!
They always ensure that the work is varied and rewarding and adapts to our recommendations.
My English wasn't the best but they always took the time to try to understand me.
Thank you for introducing me to the peninsula through your various recommendations for hikes, concerts and campfires spent with your friends and your faithful companion Ruppert !

What a memorable first wwoof experience!!
Tina and Graham are amazing hosts - we stayed at their farm for 2 weeks and we wouldn't have left if we could. They devote so much love and care to their beautiful business, home life, and guests. They are also the delights of their community which they generously made us feel part of. It was an honor to be able to spend time working with them in their garden and bakery.
We highly recommend visiting Ravenstar and hope to return soon to this magical home away from home!

Tina and Graham are warm, kind people. My friend and I hand a wonderful time. We learned so much, met lots of people, and got to see beautiful nature on the Bruce Peninsula. You can expect good food, a magical place, meaningful work, and a very sweet cat. Graham and Tina made us feel welcome and included in their community. They gave us a variety of jobs to do around their property like gardening, gathering herbs, decorating fairy doors, and more. Ravenstar is full of magic and is definitely a good place to be a Wwoofer! Thank you for the all laughs and new experiences! :)
