We are A small family farm Paula and Mendel, Eli , Katie and our two daughters Nova (8) and Jade (5). We live on 160 acres above beautiful Deadman Valley. We have a 5 acre certified organic market garden and 2 greenhouses where we raise vegetables, herbs, and bedding plants. We take our produce once a week to the farmers market in Kamloops located one hour away in this ranching and tourist area. We live 18km up Deadman-Vidette road, north of the Trans-Canada highway. It's pretty country up here, please do stop by and lend a hand. Bring your music and positivity. Other then gardening there are all the parts of homestead living that you could be involved with such as preserving food, cooking, building projects, childcare. We offer semi-private accommodation in a yurt, with shared bathroom/kitchen. Meals are usually eaten together. A friend and I stayed at Paula and Mendel's farm for 8 days this summer. It was our first wwoofing experience and we felt very welcomed! The meals were amazing, thanks to Paula, and Mendel had a lot of fun telling us about all the wwoofers they have had. There were some arguments between family members but they never dragged us into it. The stay was short, but I enjoyed the quietness, the work and the conversations :) I had a good time. All the best to the Rubinsons!

I stayed 2,5 weeks at Paula and Mendel's farm this summer and had a very good time! Their place is absolutely beautiful! I learned a lot about vegetable gardening and I am now definitely decided to have my own garden later! It's a lot of work, but we have fun doing it, thanks to Mendel's jokes amongst other things. The house is very confortable and Paula is an excellent cook. Eating every day fresh veggies from the garden was amazing! I enjoyed meeting the extended family too (they have 3 kids and 4 grandchildren), I had a fun time! Thank you again Paula and Mendel

I stayed at Paula & Mendel's socialist ranch of relaxation Summer 2012, and didn't regret a single moment. It was 6 weeks of great food, great music and hard work. You will learn a lot about organic agriculture, including the two very important rules of Canadian farming. And if you play an instrument, there are plenty of opportunities to jam. Thanks for a wonderful experience ^_^
