Wellness Retreat Center north of Kingston, Ontario

About Us
We're a wellness retreat centre on a former horse farm in the rolling countryside north of Kingston, Ontario. Our philosophy centres on land stewardship—using nature as our guide and employing restorative, ecological practices.
What We're Working On
This season we're focused on building a field-to-table growing system for our guests. Our vegetable gardens have been in production for three years and are still very much at the budding stage; we're aiming to boost yields while improving the infrastructure that supports them—upgrading compost bays and installing irrigation.
Beyond vegetables, we grow small fruits, garlic, edible flowers, and herbs. A medicinal tea garden is in the works. We're also slowly rewilding the pastures with native Ontario grasses and wildflowers.
What You'd Be Doing
We're looking for WWOOFers comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work in most weather. Tasks include:
* Maintaining the gardens—planting, weeding, watering, harvesting
* Landscaping—mowing, string-trimming, mulching
* Helping install fencing
* Other projects as they come up
Living Here
You'll have your own cabin with a regularly stocked pantry, and we'll provide groceries. We also share meals together.
The property has a bit of everything: lakefront, forests, wetlands (complete with a beaver dam), hills, and open fields once grazed by Highland cattle. There are 25 km of trails for running or hiking, and the lake is perfect for a refreshing swim. Two bikes are available for getting around, and two friendly dogs will regularly inspect your work—and probably judge your footwear (please make it closed-toe).
While we all communicate in English, we also have a working knowledge of Spanish and French.
