Hello Wwoofers my name is Peter and I am a father with 2 sons (my wife has passed). We have 2 spare rooms and 2 cats. There will be food processing, weeding , watering and making the operation more sustainable (eg. improving the watering system). I would expect time divided into watering, weeding/mulching, harvesting, mowing and sustainable practices ( using grass clippings and weeds for composting, making compost tea, mulching) The average day will include a one to two-hour introduction getting to know the garden and plan tasks depending on the season, weather and ability of the Wwoofer. There is no mechanised equipment just hand tools. There is an automatic watering system with a control box, valves, distribution and drip lines. This is supplemented by hand watering with cans or a hose. There will be harvesting and processing (if able). The crop will be 100 kg tomatoes (just starting), potatoes, beets, strawberries are done in July, raspberries are starting, gojji berries are starting, apples in the fall, and garlic, onions (processed in August). I do canning drying and freezing. The tasks can be chosen depending on the priority, time of day and ability. I will provide guidance but I expect the Wwoofer to plan and communicate to me what they have planned and then report what they did. Larger projects like repairing a raised bed, working on the watering system are possible. weeding is combined with composting and several compost systems are in use and more can be established. They are located to directly feed production plants and are fed with grass clippings, weeds and kitchen scraps (except meat). There are many tasks but they are mostly less than 2 hours and can be planned day by day. Then there is time for some fun activities like swimming, hiking mtn. biking or just a visit to town. We can share breakfast and suppers using fresh fruit veg. produce for plant- based meals with other options as desired. There is a BBQ, stove fridge and lots of freezer space. We like to hike, swim in Lk. Windermere and Mtn. bike. Invermere is 3k with an awesome thrift store. I like to make curry, mexican, mediterranian and I have my own 100 jar diet. hablo un poco de español
