Spring to June we are asking for help with brush and tree clearing around our fields. This would be good for someone with saw experience, or a strong person who wants to learn how to operate a power or brush saw.
Please commit to staying with us for a minimum of two(2) weeks before you ask to stay with us. We are very busy in the summer, so we can't always respond immediately. In the summer we often receive a few requests in one day. This means that we might accept you, and if you don't reply by the end of the day, we run the risk of closing out other requests.
We manage a 380-acre woodlot with 130 acres of hay. We have recently become fortunate enough to be stewards of a hay farm. The farm needs work and a lot of love and care, to bring it up to acceptable standards. In our ideal world is to eat what we grow or raise but so far we only have a small garden at the farm and we moved into August 2022. We are looking for willing workers who are both independent & ready to learn by participating. Willing workers will be expected to eat, work and play as part of our family. We do our best to make sure our willing workers experience the area and have a real Canadian experience. And like most places away from herbicides and pesticides, we have a healthy ecosystem and if the conditions are right we have mosquitos, very few so far.
We will provide the fixings for all meals, but you will make you own breakfast and we will share lunch and dinner together. You will be very comfy in the farm house.
