5 acre organic fruit and vegetable farm on Bowen Island. Close to Vancouver, 20 minute ferry ride to Horseshoe Bay, then easy bus to the farm. Our farm is close to lovely beaches and hikes. Self contained cabin has ocean and mountain views.Your will prepare your own meals in your own cabin at the farm or if you wish your own tent. All are very private. We pick up groceries when we go to the city.Lots of produce available on the farm. Cabin is ideal for a couple or two friends...has two beds, small kitchen with appliances etc. Chores include helping with all aspects of running a busy market garden and small farm. We will be focusing on vegetables and fruit production. We will be harvesting asparagus in the spring, garlic and fruit in fall, vegetables through the summer and fall. Lots of flowers and landscaping.Chores will frequently be weeding, picking and harvesting. At times there is grass to cut and wood to split. We prefer woofers who are able to work independently, self motivated and not require full time supervision. This is a small island with a population of about 4,200. Transportation to Vancouver is via BC Ferries,20 minutes and BC transit to downtown 30 min.and YVR airport another hour. The island is peaceful and rural, with great hiking and beaches. Organic methods: Everything is organically grown Current projects: All aspects of gardening and harvesting

We spent 10 days WWOOFing with Marg and Drew on their hobby farm on Bowen Island, and we had a wonderful experience. Marg and Drew were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. They made sure we had enough free time to explore Bowen Island and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, which we really appreciated. Our tasks included planting onions and corn, weeding, collecting brushwood, and spreading mulch. The work was varied, fair, and enjoyable, and we always felt appreciated for our help, especially for weeding the aspargus field which was a tough task 😃 As a couple, we stayed in one of their cozy cabins, which had a fireplace and a small private kitchenette. It was comfortable, peaceful, and made our stay even more special. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend staying with Marg and Drew to anyone looking for a friendly and relaxed WWOOFing experience.

We had an amazing stay at Marg and Drew’s farm. Marg and Drew were wonderfull hosts and taught us the different tasks that we had to do autonomously and were always present to help us and answer our questions. The work was various even for only a short stay of two weeks : harvesting and preparing plums and raspberries, pruning trees, weeding and landscaping. We worked about 5 hours per day, 5 day per weeks with flexible hours wich was perfect to discover the island and go hiking, kayaking or simply enjoy the beautiful cottage where we lodged. Bowen island is a really peacefull and amazing place. We definitively want to come back !

My stay with Marg and Drew was fantastic! With their friendliness and welcoming spirit, I was able to jump right in and start learning new things. Marg especially taught me about organic gardening practices and problem solving. I asked lots of questions, and she was ready to answer! The farm is beautiful and peaceful, and they are only a 15 minute walk from a lovely little beach, and a short drive away from some nice hikes. There is also a trail called Cromie trail a 5 minute walk from their house. Work on the farm is hard but rewarding work, and Marg’s expectation for labour is fair. She and Drew both work very hard all day, and are exemplars of the organic farming spirit! I felt welcome to space out my periods of work as worked for my schedule, which was nice to have that freedom. After only two days at Bowen Brook, I was already planning my return visit! Thank you Marg and Drew- until next time! - Ella

During my year in Canada I stayed about 3 months here and I just loved it. Marg and Drew are awesome people and super supportive. They can show or teach you a lot of skills regarding gardening, planting or harvesting. I did a lot of different tasks like harvesting vegetables, planting vegetables, a lot of weedeating or distributing bark mulch on all the beds. There are a lot of small projects you can work on so it won’t be boring at all. I stayed in the cabin and enjoyed every second there. Especially in the summer there were so many deers walking around the cabin which was really cool for me. This place is really special and offers a lot of things to do. Bowen Island itself is a great place to spend your time. You can do different hikes to the ocean and go there for a swim or you can hike up Mt. Gardner and watch the sunset. Thank you Marg & Drew for all your help and all the nice and funny conversations we had. I absolutely enjoyed every second with you. Thank you for making my canada adventure so special.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bowen Brook Farm! Marg and Drew are super welcoming and great to work with. The hours are fair and the tasks are interesting. It is a joy to help on the farm and then taste the veggies and fruits of our labor. And during free time, Bowen Island has loads of little trails and beaches to explore, and the sunsets are gorgeous.

Marg and Drew are wonderful hosts! We stayed there for 2 weeks and it was an amazing expierience. Marg told and taught us a lot about gardening and landscaping. Whenever we had a problem or a question Marg was there to help us. She was incredibly helpful. We really enjoyed the freedom we had. Marg and Drew provided the food and we could cook our own meals in our own kitchen. The cabin we lived in was so cute and beautiful. We fell in love with it! We would have loved to stay longer but we already had our next farm set. Thank you again Marg and Drew for beging such wonderful hosts. We wish you all the best. Milli and Alex
